Christmas Eve with the whole Family

Santa Claus

Before Christmas we took Daniel to see Santa Claus. The only thing he asked for was toy food. So of course that is what Santa brought Daniel. Here are some pictures of Christmas morning. Daniel was very excited about seeing that Santa left foot prints of ashes on the floor, and he also ate his cookies and drank his milk. It was a fun morning. The last picture of Daniel and Daddy eating the play ice cream.

Great Grandparents

Daniel and Monica are very fortunate to be able to know their great grandparents. It is such an amazing blessing to be able to see them interact the way they do. This is a picture of Monica and her 87 year old great grandma Lester, and Daniel with his 91 year old great grandpa Jones.

Monica really enjoyed her new toys that she got for Christmas. I cannot believe how big she is getting!

Christmas Outfits

Thanks to Nanny and Papa for buying Daniel his outfit, and to Aunt Andrea and Uncle Matt for buying the beautiful dress for Monica.

Crown Center

We went down to Crown Center in downtown Kansas City. They have a lot of great Christmas decorations. We also saw snoopy, garfield, and frosty. Daniel was very interested in the train display that they had out. We had a lot of fun!

House on Falmouth

There is a house very close to Nanny and Papa's house that has a very extravagant display for Christmas. They decorate their house with machanical decorations. Everything that they put on and in their house moves. It is really something to see. Here are a few pictures of our trip down there. It is not as cool in pictures because you do not see the things moving around, but it is still amazing to see the amount of work that was put into decorating this house.

Autumn Grace

Here is a picture of my beautiful new niece Autumn. She was born this past Friday. She is so beautiful. Autumn Grace welcome to our family!

My Sister My Best Friend

Today is my sisters birthday. What does it mean to be a sister? My past is full of fun and exciting memories and they all involve my sister. As I think back a few come to mind. We used to play that our bikes were horses and ride them all over the yard. We also used to "build houses" by outlining fire wood on the ground in the yard. We would have all kinds of rooms, including kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms. I used to get yelled out a lot for "walking through the walls" instead of using the designated doors. I remember one time we were in the kitchen late at night jump roping. Andrea had just finished drinking a lot of water so her belly was making swooshing noises as she jumped. She thought it was me making the noise. When we found out it was her belly we had a good laugh. We used to lay in bed and talk for hours when we were supposed to be sleeping. We would play on the trampoline, and in the fort.

As we grew up our childhood friendship developed into a more mature friendship. Andrea was there to help me adjust to being at boarding school. She was also there for me when I was making the transition to college. She was there for a late night "crisis" phone call, or just for a hug to tell me everything was going to be alright. She has always been there for me. Today I talk to my sister almost every day. I am not sure what I would do without her friendship, her advice, her fun loving laughs and smiles. I always look forward to the next time we can talk. I love her with all my heart. So back to my original question, What does it mean to be a sister? I guess it is more than just being related to a person by blood, it is being connected to that person by heart. I love you Andrea. I hope you have a blessed birthday.

Computer Trouble

We recently had a problem with our computer. For some reason our hard drive went out. We finally were able to get it fixed, but we lost EVERYTHING. And right now we do not have all of our programs that we used to have. So I am not sure when the next time I will be able to post pictures on here. I am hoping that it will be sooner than later, but it might not be for a couple of weeks. I am very sad! I hope to get this whole thing worked out soon.

Quote of the day...

Daniel loves to go to the bank with me because he gets a sucker. Just like he loves to go to the grocery store because they give out free cookies at the bakery. So today on the way home from the bank here was our conversation:

Mommy: Daniel why does the bank give out suckers?
Daniel: Because the bank is nice.
Mommy: Daniel, so why does Meijer (our grocery store) give out cookies?
Daniel: Because they know little boys LOVE COOKIES!
