I am so thankful for all the many blessings that have come my way over the past 10 years. As I look back I can see the hand of God working in my life. His faithfulness to me and my family has been amazing. Every year my sister picks a word as her word of the year. This year I would like to pick a word as well. My word of the year is "Wait". My verse for this year is from
Psalm 27:14
"Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD."
While thinking of the word "wait" one of my favorite modern hymns came to mind. It is written by Keith and Krysten Getty and it is called "Still, My Soul, Be Still".
Still my soul be still
And do not fear
Though winds of change may rage tomorrow
God is at your side
No longer dread
The fires of unexpected sorrow
God You are my God
And I will trust in You and not be shaken
Lord of peace renew
A steadfast spirit within me
To rest in You alone
Still my soul be still
Do not be moved
By lesser lights and fleeting shadows
Hold onto His ways
With shield of faith
Against temptations flaming arrows
Still my soul be still
Do not forsake
The Truth you learned in the beginning
Wait upon the Lord
And hope will rise As stars appear when day is dimming
This hymn is such a beautiful song of praise. I do not have any idea what 2011 will bring, but I have hope that God will bring good things to us during this year. I will wait patiently on the Lord.
